Schedule of Events
The 6th annual Fall into Fun Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Indian Land Middle School, 8631 Charlotte Highway (U.S. 521), Indian Land. Proceeds benefit numerous local groups and community projects. To name a few: Indian Land schools, local library, reading programs, dictionary project and Highway 521 cleanup.
Past festivals have been a great success, drawing more than 10,000 visitors. Festival entertainment is slated to include musical acts, inflatable attractions, a rock wall, pony rides, Guitar Hero, as well as putt-putt and other games for children and family members of all ages. Carolina Panthers Sir Purr is schedule to appear and the Indian Land Middle School choir will be singing the national anthem.
This years festival will also showcase the second S.C. State Championship Chili Cookoff. Winners are eligible to compete in the international cookoff held annually at Terlingua, Texas in November. This event is expected to draw chili cooks from several states throughout the South to compete as this will be the last qualifying event before the finals in Terlingua. You will be able to purchase a sample kit and taste the different styles of Chili.
